Our Lessons
Our Guidance Series has 40 lessons.  Our lessons include a variety of activities, short stories, games and puppet scripts ending with each individual or whole class creating something to take back with them for reinforcement. We'd like to show you some samples of what our lessons look like.

This lesson is called "TRUST TREE" from Volume 4.  At the end of the lesson, each child receives a leaf to explain how they will show trustworthy behaviors to others. As they explain, the leaf is added to the tree.  This lesson was done with a 4th grade class.

This lesson is called "CARING CATERPILLAR" and is from Volume 4.  Each child is given a part of the caterpillar to draw or write how they will show caring behaviors to others.  The instructor puts the front and back of the caterpillar spaced apart and each student shares their "oval" and watches the caterpillar grow.  This lesson was done with a 1st grade class.

This lesson is "RACOON ROAD" from Volume 2.  The instructor has a puppet script to read that goes over the strategies for dealing with bullies.  Then each student is given a racoon to write or draw what strategy they will use when faced with bullying. (A reminder poster is put in the middle). This poster is given to the teacher and used in the classroom when kids need to read it to discover a strategy for dealing with bullies.  This lesson was done with a 2nd grade class.

This is "HEALTHY HAL" from Volume 2.  This lesson is great during October for Red Ribbon Week.  Healthy Hal is displayed and children place healthy choices "in his body" and unheatlhy choices "outside his body". The lesson is great for grades K-3 and has a follow-up worksheet for reinforcement.

These lessons are from Volume 1.  The top two are the responsible and irresponsible faces where the children see pictures of different choices and they have to discover where the pictures go.  The bottom two pictures are from a Respect lesson. The sun represents respect and the cloud represents disrespect.  There are 10 raindrops for children to decide if they describe respectful or disrespectful actions. For follow-up, students are given a sun to write or draw something respectful they will do that week.
